Position Description
Dr. Grandi's lab at the Hospital for Sick Children is looking for a Clinical Research Project Coordinator (CRPC) to join their team. The CRPC's main responsibility will be to coordinate all aspects of a multi-site, international study that uses secondary data to evaluate maternal and child health outcomes. Tasks will include coordinating data access, site agreements, Research Ethics Board (REB) approvals, and overseeing all project activities across multiple sites. The CRPC will also assist in the preparation of study results, including presentations, progress reports, and manuscripts, and may support other functions of the lab's research program as needed.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
Project Related:
- Submit required documentation to REB and ensure institutional approvals, and coordinate revisions, annual renewals, and amend protocols as required.
- Oversee site agreement intakes and ensure execution of agreements in a timely manner.
- Develop study binders and maintain oversight of all study site activities.
- Encourage and foster collaborative relationships with research teams, participating centres, community agencies, and patient partners.
- Participate in audits, site visits and monitoring by SickKids and other regulatory bodies.
- Assist with SAP developments and planning of data analyses.
- Monitor study timelines and ensure adherence.
- Maintain oversight of study expenses and ensure adherence to project budgets.
- Assist with design/development of promotional materials/newsletters.
- Create and share progress reports.
- Coordinate team meetings and end-of-grant activities.
- Participate in patient engagement activities.
Other Program Activities:
- May assist Principal Investigator (PI) in new research proposals and preparation of grant applications; contribute to preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Read and have a general knowledge of protocol and study measures.
- Keep abreast of regulations and policies governing population-based research.
- Conduct literature reviews and keep current with study literature.
- Attend relevant departmental meetings or rounds in order to increase knowledge and understanding.
- Mentor junior staff and trainees as needed.
Here's What You'll Need:
- The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline with at least two years of project coordination experience, or, a Master's degree in a related discipline with at least one year of experience in a similar research setting.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a degree/experience in epidemiology, health sciences, and/or maternal health.
- Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Time management and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with diverse team members (i.e., researchers, patient and family partners, community organizations, research staff members, etc.)
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
Employment Type: Full-time temporary 1 year contract, 1.0 FTE
