Position Description
We are currently recruiting a Clinical Research Project Assistant (CRPA) to join our Intestinal rehabilitation program (GIFT) research team. In this position the CRPA will assist our program Investigators in conducting single and multicenter clinical, translational and pharmaceutical studies of children with intestinal failure. The GIFT team has a large research portfolio with diverse research projects, including NIH and FDA funded research studies. The successful candidate will work along with an experienced Clinical Research Project Coordinator (CRPC).
The Clinical Research Project Assistant will work closely with GIFT Principle Investigators to assist in study operations. This position includes many of the basic tasks of the clinical research process, such as REB submissions, recruiting patients, entering data, and working with stakeholders including other medical centers, CRO's and pharmaceutical companies.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
- Prepare Research Ethics Board Submissions.
- Complete and monitor appropriate completion of study case report forms
- Participate in oversight of grant finances and budget.
- Perform data management including checking data for accuracy and completeness and entering data.
- Phone subjects to confirm appointments or follow-up on study requirements.
- Obtain informed consent from study candidates
- Conduct telephone follow ups.
- Conduct health chart reviews.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to grant and/or manuscript preparation.
- Interact with research stakeholders outside of SickKids
Here's What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in sciences, social sciences, or a health-related discipline.
- Previous research experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential in order to develop good working relationships with the research team, co-investigators, Research Ethics Board and other collaborators.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Internet. Previous experience with REDCap is desirable but not mandatory).
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
