Who we are
At the Department of Health and Social Services (HSS), our mandate is to promote, protect, and enhance the well-being of Yukoners through a continuum of quality, accessible, and appropriate health and social services. The Community Health Programs (CHP) Branch within Health and Social Services delivers a variety of community and public health services throughout the territory. The Panorama Program, part of Community Health Programs Branch, is the territory’s electronic records management system used for communicable disease case management, outbreak management, immunization records management, and vaccine inventory management. The Yukon’s Panorama record management system is an instance of British Columbia Public Health Services Authority’s electronic records management system and as such our team works closely with their electronic services teams.
Your role
Reporting to the Director of Community Health Programs, this position is accountable for application development, adoption, enhancements, implementation, user access and management of applications used within Health and Social Services and across the Yukon’s Health system. The primary application is Panorama, but this position also provides expertise for affiliated applications such as Report Builder, Cambian scheduler, and other e-forms and associated applications. In addition, the Clinical Informatics Manager is responsible for the provision of support to users who are external to the department including the private sector, First Nation Health Centre and other departments. The clinical Informatics Manager has experience and expertise of health care knowledge related to the delivery of Public Health Nursing Services, immunizations and communicable diseases, including the understanding of clinical care processes, standards and regulations, as well as documentation standards for other health care professionals including physicians and pharmacists. The incumbent requires an understanding of technical knowledge and processes, with in-depth knowledge and experience with clinical informatics systems and associated functionalities.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Current Canadian licensure as a Registered Nurse or eligible for registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
- Experience in applied clinical nursing informatics
- Considerable clinical experience working in communicable disease and/or immunization programs is an asset
- Experience in providing adult education, mentoring and coaching techniques
- Experience in developing standards, policy and protocols
- Demonstrated leadership in coordinating clinical and administrative teams within healthcare settings.

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
- Valid driver’s license,
- Current Yukon RN registration,
- Security clearance,
- WHMIS 2015 (within one month of hire),
- YFN 101 course (within one month of hire).
Job requirements
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- The position works in an office environment and often travels within Whitehorse for meetings, Trainings, etc.
- Occasional out-of-territory and within territory travel may be required.
- Must be able to lift 30lbs as position lifts and transports equipment for trainings such as laptops and presentation kits.
