JOB TITLE: CLEANING PROFESSIONAL
Overview:
As a Cleaning Professional at Cartwright Cares, you will be responsible for helping seniors in the Crowsnest Pass community maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living environments within their homes. This essential role supports seniors to remain independent and thrive in their homes by providing housekeeping services that promote health, safety, and well-being. Your work will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, ensuring they can enjoy a high quality of life while staying in their own homes.
Cleaning Professionals provide clients with the following services:
- Routine cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
- Laundry services, including washing, folding, and ironing
- Kitchen cleaning, including dishes, countertops, and appliances
- Bathroom cleaning, including scrubbing toilets, sinks, and tubs
- Bed making and general tidying of living spaces
- Organization of closets and other household areas to maintain a clutter-free environment
- Special cleaning requests as directed by clients or supervisors
- Communicating with family members or healthcare providers regarding cleaning needs and tasks completed
- Promoting a safe environment free from clutter and potential fall hazards
Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning: Provide regular cleaning services in client homes to maintain a hygienic and organized environment, focusing on high-traffic areas, restrooms, and kitchens.
- Customized Services: Respond to specific cleaning needs and requests from clients, including organizing personal spaces and providing additional assistance for specialized tasks.
- Client Interaction: Develop positive and professional relationships with clients, offering comfort and support during cleaning visits, while respecting their home environment and privacy.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that cleaning products are used in a safe and effective manner, adhering to proper handling, storage, and disposal guidelines. Be aware of any specific health conditions (e.g., allergies) that require extra care.
- Collaboration: Work with the Cartwright Cares team to ensure that cleaning services align with overall client care plans. Report any issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of services rendered, noting any special tasks, client preferences, or changes to the home environment.
- Promote Safety: Maintain a safe work environment for both clients and yourself by following all health and safety protocols, such as preventing slips and falls.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Proof of Insurance: Proof of insurance coverage with a minimum of $1,000,000 is required for use of a personal vehicle while performing job duties.
- Clear Criminal Record Check: A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check must be completed.
Qualifications:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to complete thorough cleaning tasks and identify areas that require special attention.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform cleaning duties, including bending, lifting, standing for extended periods, and carrying cleaning supplies.
- Empathy and Compassion: A caring attitude and understanding of the needs of seniors, with a focus on respect for their independence and comfort.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable, with a strong work ethic and ability to consistently follow through on cleaning tasks.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adjust cleaning routines and services based on client preferences and specific needs.
Education and Experience:
- Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or caregiving is an asset but not required.
- Language: Must demonstrate the ability to understand, speak, read, and write effectively in English.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible hours: Hours will vary based on client needs, with opportunities for part-time or full-time scheduling.
- Work Environment: Cleaning tasks will primarily be performed in client homes. Occasional community events or support at other locations may be required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, squat, and kneel as necessary to complete cleaning tasks.
Wages:
- $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience.
