The Cash Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of Cashiers within the Cash and Events department. This includes the scheduling of daily activities including rotations and breaks. The Cash Supervisor will provide training and direction to Cashiers and will provide staff with feedback on their performance in the moment. The Cash Supervisor will be responsible for completing additional till transactions including facilitating the opening and closing of tills each day. Additionally, Cash Supervisors are responsible for supporting the in-store events and other marketing initiatives.
The Cash Supervisor is responsible for customer service with all customers while processing till transactions. The role is the last touch point for most customers in our store and as such is a crucial interaction to complete our customer interactions as positively as possible. The role is responsible for the consistent application of all till applications and for following outlined cash procedures.
WORK PERFORMED
DAILY SUPERVISION
- Planning and delegating the work of Cashiers including the scheduling of daily shift rotations to ensure all Cashiers are appropriately relieved when necessary and to ensure task variety to the team
- Schedule daily breaks of Cashiers
- Train new Cashiers and provide on-going training to members of the department
- Setting expectations of performance and providing feedback to Cashiers in the moment regarding customer interactions and to ensure their compliance with cash procedures and best practices
- Actively managing the work of Cashiers by engaging with them, assessing and supporting them and providing tools for development
- Enforce policy adherence

TILL OPERATIONS
- Facilitate final purchase or returns of goods from store by efficiently and quickly ringing through customer transactions

CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Greet customers entering the stores and at the tills. Engage with customers in accordance with their interest, being attentive to their needs
- Manage and resolve customer complaints effectively and understand when a situation requires a manager's intervention.
- Communicate sales and promotions, make sales referrals, cross-sell and introduce new products and support in-store events
- Oversee the Customer Service desk and all questions/comments from customers at the Customer Service Desk
- Communicate with customers and members of the public with high level of professionalism and with a positive and friendly nature.
- Answer customer questions as well as possible, and when answer is unknown work with customer to find a solution/answer
- Utilize best practices when handling cash and other payment methods to ensure positive overall interaction

Reports to the Cash and Events Manager; work is reviewed in terms of achievement of daily goals and application of knowledge, skills, abilities and attitude
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma preferred
- 1‐2 yeas of retail experience
