The Development Manager will lead various aspects of the development process, from project inception through completion. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and approval process for all Development Applications, including Zoning By-law Amendments (ZBAs) and Site Plan Approvals (SPAs), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Lead the selection and management of diverse consultant teams, fostering collaboration and accountability throughout all phases of development.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with financial goals and timelines.
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of project consultants to meet budget, schedule, and development targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with municipalities and regulatory authorities to facilitate timely approvals and entitlements.
- Guide the development and review of suite layout plans in collaboration with internal and external teams.
- Lead due diligence and feasibility assessments for new development opportunities, including market analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Review and negotiate development agreements, condominium documents, and other legal materials in partnership with legal counsel.
- Analyze evolving policies, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform development strategies.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and external stakeholders on project progress, budgetary changes, and strategic milestones.
- Undergraduate degree in planning, engineering, or business preferred.
- 5+ years of real estate development and entitlement experience, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and development processes.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
