Deer Cake is a bakery located in Markham that specializes in freshly handmade cream cakes and delicate pastries. We are seeking a talented Cake Decorator to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and decorate cakes according to customer preferences and orders.
- Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
- Use various icing and decorating techniques to create visually appealing cakes.
- Measuring and mixing ingredients according to the recipe.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of all cake products.
- Monitor and maintain oven temperatures to achieve optimal baking results.
- Maintaining a clean and organized working station.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cake decorating trends and techniques.
Required skills and ability:
- Proven experience as a Cake Decorator.
- Proficiency in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant, and sugar craft.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Ability to write simple Chinese Characters is a bonus
