We’re looking for a reliable, responsible, and personable individual to join our team as a Cafeteria Support and Cashier. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a school setting and enjoys working alongside a team to create positive experiences for everyone.

Candidates applying for this position MUST BE LOCATED and live within the Ottawa/ Gatineau areas, making the commute to work easy. Candidates who are not living within the Ottawa/ Gatineau areas will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cashiering: Accurately handle cash, process payments, and make change efficiently. Past cash handling experience is an asset.
  • Food Delivery: Assist in delivering and distributing food items (snacks, breakfast, lunch) to both the Daycare and Elementary wings of the school.
  • Event Support: Provide service during key school events such as sporting events, open houses, family nights, and more.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Kitchen Team to ensure smooth operations and timely service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Customer Service: Provide a friendly, welcoming, and helpful atmosphere for everyone, communicating effectively with students, staff, and visitors.
  • General Duties: Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier, kitchen and cafeteria areas and assist with other cafeteria-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Reliable & Responsible: Must be dependable and punctual, with the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Personable & Communicative: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with a diverse range of people, including students, parents, teachers, and staff.
  • Cash Handling Experience: Previous experience handling cash or operating a register is a plus.
  • Math Skills: Must be comfortable with basic math to accurately make change and handle transactions.
  • Language Requirements: Fluent in English (written and spoken). French language skills are an asset but not required.
  • School Environment Experience: Previous experience working in a school environment or with children is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure the cafeteria runs smoothly.
Hours:
  • Full-time position from 7:30AM - 3:30PM, daily. NOTE: there may be specific events which run after school hours, which require this individual's support. When these arise, the administration will provide appropriate notice and additional pay.
