OBJECTIVES: Join our team as a Branch Manager, where you'll be instrumental in driving strategic leadership, operational management and expand market reach within the Vulcraft Canada West region. Your strategic approach will be essential in building strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and customers, ensuring successful sales growth and market penetration. As a key member of the Vulcraft Canada leadership team, you’ll also contribute to enhancing safety culture, improving operational efficiency, and boosting customer satisfaction across the division.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead and promote safety culture within the Branch and Vulcraft Canada, including demonstrating concern for personal safety, exemplifying the “Safety First” culture, and understanding and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines. • Lead and promote Vulcraft Canada West Grating, aligning with our mission statement and implementing the Nucor Way, including safety philosophy, customer focus, treating others with respect, inspiring trust in others, and fostering open and honest communication. • Responsible for all Branch operations and profit and loss aspects, including estimating, detailing and fabrication departments. • Communicate clear expectations for teammates and coach teammates to maximize their potential while effectively delegating to motivate teammates by caring about their success, proactively sharing information, actively seeking and providing timely feedback. • Lead the commercial team to develop sales and bidding opportunities. Analyze both short-term and long-term market and competitive trends within the branch. • Responsible for cultivating and maintaining successful vendor, contractor, and subcontractor relationships. • Build and sustain connections within the local construction and business communities and industries. • Build talent by mentoring department supervisors, leads and teammates at the branch and working with Vulcraft Canada leadership to identify and develop future leaders. • Support the alignment of branch business goals and teammate development goals with divisional goals and the Vulcraft Canada mission. Ensure effective implementation of all other Vulcraft Canada policies and directives relevant to branch operations. • Lead all department leadership, supervisors, and team members in the facility's daily operations, focusing on safety, customer service, production volume, cost efficiency, and quality standards. • Oversee all location personnel's hiring, training, mentoring, evaluation, and work so that all teammates perform effectively and efficiently. • Communicate, clarify, and follow all company policies and procedures.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Currently Qualified to work in Canada • Two years of experience in a leadership role • Supervisor and Manager recommendation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree or business training and experience • 5 Years of construction industry experience (field, engineering, other construction products) • Knowledge of related business, industrial regulations and standards • Experience implementing continuous improvement and/or related project management experience in implementing improvements • Ability to work as a team leader/member on projects with an aptitude for problem-solving • Organized and detail-oriented • Effective verbal and communication skills
SPECIAL DEMANDS • Respond to urgent issues that arise at the Branch. • Work in a noisy manufacturing environment with known hazards. • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Walking, sitting, standing, bending • Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers, and other electronic equipment • Lifting/handling computers and related equipment (typically not more than 25 pounds). • Moderate noise level.
