About the Job
Are you passionate about baking and creating delicious treats? West-Side Ventures Ltd is looking for a dedicated and skilled Baker to join our vibrant team! This is a permanent position offering 40 hours of work per week in a fast-paced and exciting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Bake mixed dough and batters to perfection.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
- Prepare special orders to meet customer needs.
- Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
- Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
- Ensure product quality meets established standards.
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas for cleanliness and safety.
- Operate baking machinery efficiently.
- Organize and maintain inventory for smooth operations.
Work Environment
You will be working in a bake shop and café setting, where creativity and attention to detail are essential. The role requires:
- Ability to distinguish between colors.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
- Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience: Not required, but good to have 1 or more years experience in a similar role.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
