The Assistant Restorative Care Coordinator (ARCC) is an active part of inter-disciplinary team in running Nursing Restorative Care Program with the goal of maximizing functional independence of residents by restoring and maintaining functional mobility and cognitive ability.
What You Will Work On
Reporting to the Director of Care, the successful applicant will be expected to represent Shepherd Village in a courteous and professional manner, while maintaining amicable relationships with staff, Residents and their families, in keeping with our Corporate Values.
How You’ll Create Impact
- Communicate care goals and obtain informed consent from residents/POA/SDM.
- Document SMART goals and incorporate restorative interventions into daily activities.
- Train and support PSWs and frontline staff in intervention implementation.
- Monitor, track, and document resident progress and update care plans accordingly.
- Assist residents with individualized restorative care plans focusing on mobility, ADLs, and self-care.
- Encourage resident participation in exercises and ambulation programs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
What Are Your Skills and Experience
- Qualified as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), or Kinesiologist certified in restorative care practices.
- Familiar with rehabilitation techniques, mobility support, and cognitive stimulation.
- Certification as a PSW with rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in Long-Term Care (LTC) as PTA, OTA, or Restorative Care Aide.
- Experience working with residents with dementia.
- Knowledge of documentation in Point Click Care (PCC) or Point of Care (POC) preferred.
- MUST be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
