Assistant Resident Manager
About the Role
Are you hands-on, community-oriented, and ready to make a real difference? This is a live-in position, with a subsidized apartment included — the perfect chance to work and live in a welcoming environment.
As the Assistant Resident Manager, you'll report to the Resident Manager (Property Manager) and serve as a key pillar of support for the building team and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily cleanliness of common areas and prepare vacant suites for new residents
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and concerns
- Show available suites to prospective tenants and support leasing efforts
- Book and coordinate contractors for maintenance and repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of the property, including building systems and grounds
- Assist with minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, basic HVAC checks)
- Ensure life safety systems and fire regulations are adhered to
- Provide exceptional customer service and help foster a positive community environment
- Remain available for evening and weekend on-call duties.
Qualifications:
- Strong DIY skills with the ability to perform minor plumbing and carpentry repairs
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, fire safety regulations, and life safety systems
- Confidence working independently as well as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift up to 15 kg, bend, push, pull, and navigate stairs regularly
- Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office, text, and email; experience with YARDI is a strong asset
- Strong communication skills — fluent in written and spoken English; a second language is an asset
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. certification
- 2–5 years of experience in property management or a similar hands-on building operations role
- Willingness to complete a criminal record background check
