Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday evenings, plus alternating Saturdays
Position Summary:
The Coaldale Public Library is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our team as an assistant library clerk. This one-year term position involves shelving returned materials, maintaining the organization of the library’s collections, and supporting day-to-day library operations.
This position is especially suited to students with flexible schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shelve returned library materials accurately and efficiently
- Maintain organization and appearance of library shelves
- Assist with basic circulation tasks
- Provide occasional support for library programming
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and effective time management
- Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
- Comfortable using a PC in a Windows environment
- Experience in a library or customer service setting is an asset
- Must be 16 years of age or older
Special Requirements:
- Candidates must be physically capable of:
- Lifting boxes up to 30 lbs
- Maneuvering book carts up to 50 lbs
- Using stools and ladders to access shelving
- A clear criminal record check will be required before a final offer is made
Compensation:
Starting wage: $16.24 per hour
