Assembler/Industrial Spray Painter

Murphy is currently looking to hire an industrial spray painter/labour as a part of its fabrication division. In this position, the successful applicant will work alongside the fabrication team to prepare products (dust collectors) for painting, spray paint, and skid. This includes caulking, bolting flanges, installing filter bags and other labour
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble units using a variety of tools including caulking gun, cordless drill, indoor cranes, and forklift. Will also be responsible for installing filter bags.
- Clean the equipment to prep for painting.
- Use our airless spray paint system to prime and paint all steel products.
- Maintain paint booth and equipment.
- Quality check pre and post paint.
- Skidding dust collectors, and sometimes preparing for shipping.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Other responsibilities will be required as needed (including general labour).
Qualifications:
- Assembly/finishing experience.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Painting experience is an asset but willing to train.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience with forklifts, cranes, and hoists is an asset. Must be willing to learn/train.
- Be able to read and interpret job/work orders.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Knowledge or experience with Dust Collection is an asset.
- Willing to use a 10-ton Forklift, and ladders. Must be comfortable with heights. Must be comfortable with enclosed spaces.
- Able to stand regularly and lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Other:
- 40 hours per week with possible overtime
- 7am – 4pm Monday – Thursday, 7am – 1pm Friday
- Must bring your own: Basic Tools, Steel-toed safety boots and attire.
Salary & Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $25.00 - $30.00
- Company Paid Benefits (3 months after start date)
