We are a newly opened Arcade Bar in the heart of the Blue Mountain Village, offering custom-built arcade machines with 100+ games on each machine, the only F1 Full-Motion Cockpit racing machines in Canada, as well as a boho-chic lounge with a full-service bar. We work closely with our sister axe-throwing business in the village, AXED. Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Contract Arcade Bar Staff to join our team. This position is part-time to start, with the potential for more hours once the busy winter season starts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable experiences for our guests. As a member of our bar-cade staff, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional guest services while maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with a smile, and ensure they feel welcome and at home in our venue
- Prepare and serve snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and arcade area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including stocking bar before and after each shift
- Engage with guests to provide information about arcade credit kiosks, game machines, F1 Simulators, drink offerings, menu items, and specials.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
- Operate the POS system efficiently for processing orders and payments.
- Collaborate with supervisors, management, and the owners to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality by creating a friendly atmosphere for all patrons.
Requirements
- Previous experience in entertainment venues/restaurant/hospitality is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Create and deliver fun and engaging group events, such as team-building workshops, birthday parties, or bachelor/bachelorette parties
- Knowledge of guest service principles and practices within the restaurant or hotel industry is advantageous.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to help others is essential for success in this role.
- Knowledge of classic and newer arcade games, arcade machines, F1 Racing and simulators, and classic movies is an advantage!
- MUST have valid SmartServe certification, or be willing to get by start date
- CPR/first aid certification is preferred
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Tip pool is added to bi-weekly pay. Cash tips paid weekly. Discounts at numerous Blue Mountain Village retailers and restaurants. Discount on Blue Mountain Resort 5x7 ski pass.
As we are located in a busy tourist destination, evening, weekend, and holiday availability are REQUIRED.
