American Sign Language (ASL) - English Interpreter

The Ministry of Education, Robarts School for the Deaf in London, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch, require ASL-English Interpreters to provide interpreting services in educational and resource services programs for students and staff who do not share the same language or culture.

- Provide interpreting services for Deaf students and staff in various settings;
- Provide interpreting services for training sessions and workshops;
- Availability to work on-call hours as required.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
- Degree or Diploma in ASL-English Interpreting
- Fluency in American Sign Language and English
Knowledge and Skills:
Your background and experience enables you to meet the following requirements:- Ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational and professional settings;
- Knowledge and understanding of the Professional Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI);
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture;
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience interpreting in both small and large group settings.
