BASF's Professional Development Programs (PDPs) were created to provide highly motivated, mobile-minded recent university graduates an opportunity to enhance their professional skills through a variety of diverse learning experiences. Through their rotation participants will contribute to real-world assignments in collaboration with other BASF Technical Service Representatives and Biologists (R&D).

BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division connects innovation, customers, partners and agricultural experts and integrates sustainability criteria into all business decisions. The PDP role is a full time, permanent position that begins with a 24-month rotational program; with terms spent working in field research and technical service focused on crop protection and seed. The roles will be located across Canada and will focus on an array of agronomy and crop protection topics such as disease, insect and weed management. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to join our Talent Pipeline for a role in a variety of disciplines.

  • Successfully engaging across the business, as part of a North American cohort, your rotations will expand your network, allow you to grow personally and professionally, and learn a variety of valuable skill sets within different areas of the business. Each rotation will enhance product knowledge, market strategies, an understanding of our business and customer strategies.
  • Leveraging your education and professional background you will provide technical skills to enhance BASF’s reputation with the customer and integrate within the business and technical community to bring additional value to BASF’s agricultural solutions customers.
  • Effectively engaging across the business, you will become a Subject Matter Expert of BASF’s products and portfolio by providing technical support to both internal (retail and grower representatives, biology, technical service representatives) and external stakeholders (retail customers, agronomists and university personnel)
  • Effectively communicating and positively influencing key stake holders through relationship building and regular contact.

If you are or possess...


  • An upcoming graduate with a Master of Science in, agronomy, weed science, pathology, entomology, biology or a related field.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Customer focused.
  • Mobility & commitment to relocation.
  • Strong influencing & impact skills.
  • Team oriented with a passion for agriculture.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Seed / Crop Protection work experience an asset.
