Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (20 hours/week)
Wage: $25–$30/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

About Us:
Westside Montessori Academy (WMA) is an independent school in East Vancouver offering an engaging Montessori program for students from Kindergarten through Grade 7. Our After-School Club extends the WMA experience with a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children aged 5 to 12 years.
We are seeking a warm, creative, and organized After-School Club Coordinator to lead, coordinate, and develop our variety of after-school clubs offered each full school day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning engaging activities, building relationships with children and families, and leading a small team in a collaborative, child-centred setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of themed weekly and monthly clubs (e.g., arts & crafts, games, nature play)
- Oversee the daily operation of all after-school club offerings and ensure programming aligns with WMA’s values
- Supervise children aged 5–12, ensuring their physical and emotional safety
- Model and implement positive behaviour guidance strategies
- Supervise and support after-school staff and volunteers, including scheduling and arranging coverage during staff absences or illness
- Maintain accurate attendance records, incident logs, and health documentation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families during pickup
- Maintain a clean, calm, and welcoming after-school club environment
Education, Experience and Certification:
- Responsible Adult Certificate, Early Childhood Education (ECE), or BC Teacher Certification
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting (ideally in a supervisory role)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screening)
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices
- Ability to respond effectively in emergencies and calmly manage challenging behaviours

- Additional hours possible on professional development days or during school breaks
