Administrator/Accounts Payable Clerk

This position is permanent full-time, with hours Mon-Fri, 8:00am – 4:30pm working out of our Pitt Meadows office.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and work in a team environment supporting the Purchaser, Mill and Maintenance Managers, with the initiative to take on tasks and offer suggestions for improvement
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively (self-starter)
- Polite telephone manner
- Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word, and ability to learn an accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics)
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- 2-3 years of office experience is required
- Previous experience in the forestry industry is an asset
About the role:
Working as a member of the administration team, Halo Sawmill is looking for a candidate that thrives in a frontline role interacting with employees, suppliers, customers and visitors daily. The Administrator/Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties. Some of the key functions of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Answering phones, greeting customers/visitors/contractors/employees
- Receiving and printing of all incoming invoices, obtaining proper approvals from various management prior to entering into an accounting software with accuracy
- Creating, updating, managing, and distributing various reports using Excel and Word
Tracking, coordinating and booking various employee training certification courses
- Tracking, preparing/reviewing, and distributing payroll timebooks and reports bi-weekly
- Arranging couriers and dealing with incoming supplier deliveries
- Maintaining a filing system for various recordkeeping both manual and digital
- Maintain office supply stock, IT troubleshooting, and general office upkeep
- Prepare and print customer cut specs during holiday relief
- Other tasks and ad hoc reporting as required
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000/year, Dependent on experience
