Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detailed Accounts Receiveable Clerk to join our team. The Accounts Receivable Clerk plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer payments and receivables. This position is responsible for managing daily cash receipting, preparing bank deposits, reconciling cash and petty cash balances, and assisting with credit applications and collections. By maintaining accurate financial records and delivering exceptional customer support, the Accounts Receivable Clerk contributes to the company’s strong financial performance and supports smooth communication between internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Completing data entry for accounts receivable.
- Processing and recording customer payments, including cash, cheques, EFTs, and credit card transactions.
- Preparing and reconciling daily bank deposits and maintaining accurate cash and petty cash records.
- Monitoring accounts receivable aging and assisting with collection efforts to ensure timely payments.
- Processing credit card payments and assisting with customer credit applications and account setups.
- Assisting with month-end reconciliations and preparing reports as needed.
- Preparing assigned balance sheet reconciliations and completing assigned data entry corrections.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, vendors and customers by phone and email, ensuring regular communication, clear messaging and timely responses.
- Adhering to accounting policies and SOPs and working within established financial timelines to meet deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate and current file management and record keeping according to established processes.
- Coordinating and/or executing assigned office administration duties.
Experience & Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in an accounting or administrative role.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Office, Outlook, Excel and SharePoint.
- Strong work ethic with commitment to accuracy and integrity of work performed.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to use financial software and ERP systems.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all duties.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
