Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Paramedic to join our emergency medical services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality pre-hospital care to patients in emergency situations. This role requires quick decision-making, effective communication, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. As a Paramedic, you will play a crucial role in assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, and ensuring safe transport to medical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' conditions through physical examinations and medical history.
- Administer medications as per protocols and physician orders.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Provide advanced life support and basic life support techniques as needed.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist patients or move equipment.
- Collaborate with hospital staff during patient handoff and provide detailed reports on patient status.
- Maintain equipment and ensure that all medical supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as an Advanced Care Paramedic with Alberta College of Paramedics and in good standing.
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- BLS
- Valid Alberta Class 4 (or equivalent) drivers license and clean driving abstract.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and medical terminology.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $500.00-$652.38 per day
