We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable full-time Yard Operations Manager to join our team.
About the Role
Working out of our Kelowna location and reporting to the General Manager, the Yard Operations Manager plays a key role in the success of our store by overseeing daily yard operations and ensuring an efficient, safe, and customer-focused environment. This hands-on leader will inspire and guide a diverse team to meet sales and delivery targets while upholding the highest standards of service and safety. Responsibilities include developing delivery schedules, coordinating logistics and storage plans, and managing all yard premises, materials, and equipment. Strong people leadership and a passion for exceptional customer service are essential. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and support a yard team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-performing daily operations.
- Foster a strong customer service culture, ensuring positive experiences for both internal teams and Pro Customers.
- Oversee fleet operations and maintenance, ensuring safety compliance and reliability.
- Support sales goals by coordinating deliveries, managing inventory, and ensuring operational alignment with the sales team.
- Contribute to staffing, training, scheduling, and performance management in partnership with the General Manager and HR. Support additional projects and tasks assigned by the General Manager.
- Support the ongoing success and adaptability of the business by undertaking additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the General Manager.

What We’re Looking for in You
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma in Business Administration, or related field a plus.
- 2-3 years Yard / Building management experience
- Contractor Sales, Retail Sales, Lumber sales background ideal
- 2-3 years’ experience leading teams
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills an asset.
- Exceptional sales skills with the ability to train and motivate others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with POS systems or other computer database systems; computer literate.
- Customer-focused with a proven track record of building open and trusting relationships a must!
