Job Summary
We are looking for Telecom Tower Riggers to join of one of Canada’s leading Communications Engineering and Construction firms. You will be part of a growing team of professionals and a firm that works hard to maintain its reputation for customer service excellence amongst its clients and peers. In this role, you will be responsible for performing all tasks required to fully construct wireless equipment on tower and rooftop environments.
Note: This Description aligns to a Level 1 Tower Rigger / Technician. We are, however, actively looking for Levels 1, 2 and 3. For these levels, responsibilities will change slightly including greater supervisory and coordination responsibility and accountability. Compensation will also be higher in recognition of the greater scope of these higher levels.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, removal, replacement, repair, retrofit or maintenance of antennas, RRU, BBU or any other auxiliary equipment using construction or rigging equipment
- Assist and develop with work on tower top which may include the assembly and installation of brackets, supports, masts, jumpers, cabling, terminations, weatherproofing, adjust antenna Azimuth and down tilt, labeling, etc
- Assist with the assembly and installation of site infrastructure including cable tray, ladders, dog house, fencing, etc)
- Assist with the installation of grounding systems
- Perform general ground procedures, such as assembly of Microwave Dishes and steel structure assembly
- Keep site cleaned and organized
- Any other duties that may be assigned
Skills
- Must be comfortable working at heights or in confined space
- Basic construction knowledge and use of tools knowledge / aptitude
- Must be a team player and possess a positive and professional attitude towards work and others
- Must be able to travel to travel and work weekends, nights if required by customer
- Must be able to clear a background check, drug test as required and have a valid driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract
- Fluent in English written and oral
- College, High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED), Vocational or Technical Training preferred
- 6-12 months wireless experience preferred, however Company has capacity to train and develop new workers and ensure trainees receive all basic skills required to work safely and effectively
