Applications are invited for the position of Water Wastewater Facilities Operator II within the City of North Bay’s Water Wastewater Division. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Water & Wastewater, Operator II is responsible for the operation of the water or wastewater plant, as the case may be, in order to ensure that residents have safe and clean water (or properly treated wastewater) in accordance with federal, provincial and municipal legislation, policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum post-secondary diploma (ex: Environmental Technician) or equivalent
- Must possess and post a minimum:
- Class II Water Treatment Certificate,
- Class I Water Distribution Certificate,
- Class II Wastewater Treatment Certificate
- Class I Wastewater Collection Certificate
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership
- Must have worked a minimum of five (5) years as a Certified Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Must have sufficient clerical ability to complete necessary reports
- Have working knowledge of Safety Regulations and Procedures
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Must possess a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license
- Must have a good attendance record and must be available for On-Call rotation and emergency work
- Computer skills including ability to operate SCADA and Hansen systems
Hours of Work: 0730hrs to 1600hrs - Monday to Friday (Must be available for On-Call rotation and emergency work)
Duration: Permanent Full-Time
Environment: Unionized
Hourly Rate: $35.87 per hour, plus $0.50/hour for each additional certificate above the minimum qualification level
