Position Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, Visitor Services, the Visitor Centre Agent is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by providing visitors with information and recommendations about the resort and surrounding area. The agent will handle sales of retail items, transportation tickets (Whistler and to Vancouver and YVR), and activity bookings, ensuring guests are well-informed and can fully enjoy their time.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect
- Welcome in-resort guests and local residents, providing outstanding service and sharing up-to-date and relevant information
- Support tourism partners by promoting local products and educating guests both in person, over the phone, and via email
- Address guest questions and concerns with confidence and care, offering solutions and recommendations
- Responsible for activity, transportation, and retail sales, including inventory control via our online system
- Provide information on tourism opportunities within the Sea to Sky corridor and across British Columbia
- Promote the use of digital platforms Ask Whistler, including digital maps, customer feedback tools, and Google Reviews to enhance guest experience
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Follow Tourism Whistler’s health and safety regulations, including maintaining a clean workspace
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude as a Visitor Centre Agent
- Follow all standard operating procedures as outlined in the Tourism Whistler Employee Handbook and the Visitor Services Manual
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Proactive in staying informed about local tourism offerings and seasonal changes
- Multilingual skills are an asset
- Sales experience an asset
- Flexibility to work weekends and accommodate a varied schedule
