Into the Wild Tours is a locally owned tour company offering unforgettable guided experiences in the Canadian Rockies, with a focus on sustainability, personalized service, and meaningful travel. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Virtual Assistant to join our team and help us maintain excellent communication with our guests and partners.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Virtual Assistant based in Calgary to assist with email communications and administrative tasks. This is a remote, part-time position with flexible hours, perfect for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about customer service.
In-depth knowledge of Banff National Park, its main attractions, and surrounding areas (Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Icefields Parkway, etc.) is essential for this role, as you’ll be regularly providing recommendations and answering questions from travelers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage incoming emails from clients, partners, and suppliers
- Respond to booking inquiries and provide accurate, helpful information about tours, itineraries, and local attractions
- Provide personalized recommendations based on guest interests and tour offerings
- Forward specific inquiries to the appropriate team members
- Maintain email templates and update FAQs as needed
- Assist with other light administrative tasks as assigned (e.g., confirming pickup locations, waivers, or tour reminders)
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Banff National Park, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and the surrounding areas
- Strong written communication skills (English fluency required)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic computer skills (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
- Previous experience as a virtual assistant or in customer service is an asset
- Passion for the tourism industry or outdoor adventure is a strong plus
Hours & Compensation:
- Part-time (approx. 10–20 hours per week, depending on the season)
- Flexible schedule, with some availability on weekends preferred
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience
