Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. Your passion for animals and strong communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for both clients and their furry companions.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, treatments, and general pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up to date in the system.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Manage all daily emails
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide clients with educational materials about pet health and wellness.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a very fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing excellent care to pets and their owners.

About the clinic:
Our team has professionals who specialize in dog, cat, rabbit, equine, avian, bovine, exotic and pocket pet medicine. Whether large or small, we can give your pet the treatment they need. Our clinic has the equipment to safely perform surgery, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound and laser therapy. Our veterinary care team is highly trained to perform diagnostics, vaccinations, deworming, wellness exams, nutrition counselling, disease prevention and emergency care. We prioritize your pet's comfort by creating a calming and welcoming environment. You can rest assured that everyone in our team will be gentle with your pets and treat them like our own.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Onoway, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
