Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist – Holistic Veterinary Clinic

We’re not your typical vet clinic. Our focus is to enhance our patient’s quality of life by incorporating nutrition-based therapies, natural remedies, alternative treatments, and a calming, low-stress environment to promote long-term health. Our team believes in providing a unique and individualized approach to patient care, and we’re looking for an assistant who shares that mindset.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a hands-on role that keeps you engaged in many areas of the clinic. You’ll rotate between patient care, treatment support, cleaning and organizing, and lending a hand at reception when things get busy. Your contributions will help the day run smoothly and ensure both pets and their people feel well cared for. You’ll be a vital part of the team, helping with:
- Handling and Comforting Patients – Safely restraining dogs and cats while keeping stress levels low
- Assisting with Treatments – Supporting technicians and doctors during exams and procedures
- Clinic Organization – Cleaning, stocking, and keeping things running efficiently
- Patient Care – Helping pets feel safe and comfortable
- Client Communication – Answering basic questions and ensuring pet owners feel informed and supported
- Front Desk/Reception - Assist reception staff with answering phones and patient check-ins during peak hours.
What We’re Looking For
This role is a great fit for someone who:
- Has experience working with animals (professional experience preferred but not required)
- Has basic computer skills (knowledge of Avimark software preferred)
- Is comfortable handling dogs and cats, including those who may be anxious or reactive
- Loves working on a team and takes initiative to help where needed
- Is open to learning about holistic veterinary medicine
- Can stay organized in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Has a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
