Scope of Position:
The Unregulated Care Provider shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
Shift Details: Part Time Evenings, 3pm-11pm (30 hours bi-weekly)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
- Administers medication to residents
- Completes all assigned paperwork
- Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services teams
- Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
- Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Previous experience in providing personal care
- Valid medication administration certificate
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carrying heavy items
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.27 per hour
