We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Tutoring Centre Coordinator. As a successful Tutoring Centre Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day operations of Scholars of Don Mills, including overseeing curriculum and programming, scheduling, teacher training, the administration of assessments, billing and conferencing with parents. Candidates must have a strong passion for helping children reach their academic goals.
Qualifications of a successful Scholars of Don Mills Team Member include the following:
- Post-secondary education with a business, administrative, or education focus
- Proficiency with G Suite, Trello, and Slack or other messengers
- Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- A professional, enthusiastic, flexible, and energetic demeanour
- Previous experience in the supplemental education field and an entrepreneurial spirit is an asset
Centre Growth Responsibilities
- Handle new inquiries, assessments, enrollments, and conferences with parents
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with teachers, educational specialists and other school administrators, parent/teacher organizations, case managers, and community contacts
- Monitor daily business operations
- Assist with marketing activities and attend community events, if required.
- Wipe down surfaces, arrange supplies, sweep the floor, and keep the washroom clean.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Communicate accurate and complete information to clients in a considerate, professional, knowledgeable and accurate manner on an ongoing basis
- Write and recommend goal-based programs, and monitor programs for progress
- Create a positive learning environment in the centre for staff, students, and parents
- Oversee and schedule student programs
- Take responsibility for understanding, managing and meeting client needs and expectations
Other Details
- This position will be based at Scholars of Don Mills
- The position begins with two shifts per week, gradually increasing to four
- Candidates must be available to work at least four weekdays per week.
- Location hours of operation are typically Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 8.30 pm; and Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm.
- Candidates must be able to teach elementary English and Math up to Grade 6 when required to substitute for a tutor.
- Dress code is business casual
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience, with an opportunity for performance‑based profit sharing after successfully completing the probation period
- The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 28 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
