Job Description:
Mryglod Steel & Metals Inc. is seeking a skilled and responsible 1A Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting metal materials from various locations to our recycling facility. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods while adhering to all transportation regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and drive a 1A truck to transport metal materials to and from designated locations.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure placement and weight distribution.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its roadworthiness.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck, reporting any mechanical issues or damages promptly.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to the cargo and equipment.
Requirements:
- Valid 1A driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of relevant transportation laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to operate and maintain a 1A truck safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the metal recycling industry is a plus.
- Experience with Rolloff/ End Dump is also a plus.
