Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a minimum 2+ years of working experience as a Topman/Topwoman or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to provide inspections and read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and reports.
- Various shifts, project dependent, up to 12-hour days
- Willing to work evenings and weekends
- Hourly rate is dependent on experience
Job Description:
- Conducting elevation shots, reading grade, and ensuring the pipe is being properly placed in the ground.
- Communicating with the Superintendent, Operators, and Crew members.
- Providing continuous inspections of pipes for cracks or deficiencies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and reports.
- Use and knowledge of various levels.
- Oversee the water and pumps within the trenches.
- Knowledge of fusion joining is considered an asset.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years of working experience as a Topman/Topwoman for various sewer and water projects or equivalent experience required.
- Must have a strong understanding of reading grade.
- Must understand surveying.
- Must be able to do elevation shots.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings.
- CSTS-09 or 2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground disturbance 201, fall protection required (may be provided upon hire with conditions).
- A reliable means of transportation is required.
- Proficient English language skills required.
Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
