The Timber Cruising/Timber Layout position is essential for assessing and managing forest resources. This role involves evaluating timber stands, measuring tree dimensions, and providing accurate data for sustainable forestry practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of forestry principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments.

We are a small Timber Layout company,looking to add to our team for the season.
Responsibilities
- Conduct timber cruising to assess tree volume and quality.
- Measure tree heights, diameters, and other relevant metrics.
- Collect and record data accurately for reporting purposes.
- Utilize GPS and mapping tools to navigate forested areas.
- Collaborate with forestry teams to develop management plans.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during assessments.
- Maintain equipment and tools used in timber cruising activities.
- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and team members.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading to interpret forestry plans.
- Familiarity with construction estimating techniques related to timber Experience
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data collection.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in remote locations.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with teams.
- Physical stamina to navigate various terrains and perform fieldwork tasks.
