Job Description:
INNISFAIL LOCATION
Position Purpose summary:
The Thrift Store Clerk provides service to customers, sorts incoming product and assists in the ongoing retail operations of The Salvation Army Innisfail Thrift Store.
Accountabilities
- Assist with the processing of incoming goods
- Provide courteous and efficient service to customers
- Completing customer transactions involving cash and debit purchases
- Answering incoming phone calls
- Assist with general cleaning and tidying of the store
Working Conditions:
- This is an 8 week CANADA SUMMER JOBS position for applicants age 15 to 30 years of age.
- Position begins approximately July 2, 2025, 35 hours per week for 8 weeks, ending August 27, 2025. Must be able to work some Saturdays. Shifts to be determined by manager.
- Schedule may vary from week to week and include weekdays and Saturdays
- Flexibility in scheduling is required.
- Includes a ½ hour unpaid meal-break where applicable
- Ability to stand for long periods with frequent twisting, bending, crouching and reaching is required.
- Ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds
- The Supervisor will set the hours of work and work schedule.
Qualifications and Education requirements:
- Must be able to work with a variety of people
- Ability to work within the mandate and Mission Statement of The Salvation Army
Education/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Standard First Aid and/or WMHIS an asset but not required.
Experience:
- Retail experience an asset
Required Skills/Capabilities:
- Completion of High school an asset
- Capable of frequent twisting, bending, crouching and reaching is required
- Ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds or 50 pounds with assistance.
- Good interpersonal/communication skills
- Must be able to work with a variety of people
- Ability to work within the mandate and Mission Statement of The Salvation Army
- Provide a clear Police background check dated within the last 30 days
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

- A clear Criminal Record Check
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $15.75 to $19.69 with a maximum of $23.63.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
