Meet Gus*

Gus* Design Group is a Toronto-based furniture design and manufacturing company. Our Gus* Modern Collection spans upholstered seating, dining, beds, accents, lighting, and accessories - found in fine independent showrooms across North America and select international locations. We’re a tight-knit, design-obsessed team that loves building beautiful products and long-term relationships.

Why this role rocks

If you thrive on building strong relationships while chasing new opportunities, this is your role. You’ll own a U.S. territory, balancing the growth of current accounts with a hunter’s drive to find fresh business. As the face of Gus* for our retail partners, you’ll be backed by a collaborative crew at HQ who’s just as excited about design as you are.

What you’ll do

· Grow the business: Achieve sales profitability, growth, and account penetration in your assigned U.S. territory/market segment.

· Be relationship-first: Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers using a consultative, relationship-based approach.

· Hit the road (smartly): Travel across the U.S. to grow new business and support current clients with visits and training.

· Build the pipeline: Research and develop prospective customers, evaluate market potential, and create customer value plans that showcase each account, reveal new share opportunities, and chart a path for growth.

· Plan with intent: Organize a personal sales strategy that maximizes your return on time investment.

· Pitch with polish: Craft clear, compelling proposals and presentations for current and prospective partners.

· Team up across Gus*: Coordinate with Marketing, Sales Management, Accounting, Logistics, and Customer Service to deliver a seamless partner experience.

· Stay sharp: Keep current on product applications, technical services, advertising/promotional trends, and industry movements.

· Pitch in: “Other duties as assigned” - we’re a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves team.

What you bring

· Furniture sales experience is a must. (Minimum 5 years in sales, with furniture industry experience.)

· Post-secondary education is an asset; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

· Proven relationship-building, presentation and sales training skills.

· Strong communication (written + verbal), time management, and organization.

· Creative, resourceful, and results-oriented - you think beyond the obvious and sell with style.

· Comfortable working independently and as a team player.

· A good sense of humour and ease in a casual business environment.

Tools & travel

· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 with strong Excel skills.

· Valid driver’s license, credit card, and passport (for U.S. travel).

· Ability to travel to the United States as required.

· This is an in-person role based out of our corporate office near Toronto Pearson Airport.

Why you’ll love working here

· Real ownership of your territory and strategy.

· A supportive, tight-knit team that celebrates wins and learns fast.

· Casual vibe, serious goals.
