Job Description:
City University in Canada invites applications for a 3-year term faculty position in the Master of Education (MEd) program in School Counselling. This role offers an exciting opportunity to teach, research, and contribute to developing our graduate program in a collaborative and student-centered environment. The ideal candidate will join a vibrant department dedicated to excellence in school counsellor education and research, supporting both program development and their professional growth.
As a term faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching 4 to 6 graduate-level courses per year. Your compensation will include a base salary aligned with current course pay rates, plus an additional 25% for contributions to scholarly activities, service, and administrative responsibilities.
Teaching:
- Teach 4-6 graduate-level courses per year, as assigned by the Academic Program Director (APD).
- Participate in developing and updating course curricula and materials.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
Scholarly Activities, Service, and Administrative Tasks
Scholarly Activities
- Conduct original research in school counselling-related fields.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.
- Collaborate and mentor colleagues on research initiatives.
Service and Administrative Tasks
- Serve on departmental and university committees or initiatives.
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Provide additional instructional support as assigned by APD.
- Engage in community outreach and professional service activities.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

- PhD in Counselling Psychology or related fields. Master's degree candidates may be considered based on their level of experience.
- Experience teaching at the K-12 and/or post-secondary level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and research.
- Counsellor Education from a recognized program accredited by CCPA, CPA, BCACC, or the equivalent is desired.
- Experience in a school counselling role in a K-12 setting is desired.
- Registration as a teacher or a relevant professional body is desired.
