Pharmacy Services - VH Prescription Centre

The Technical Pharmacy Specialist is a Registered Pharmacy Technician who supports the Pharmacy Team as an informal Leader and oversees many aspects of Pharmacy Technician work and development throughout the Pharmacy department.

Temporary Full-Time

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: up to 18 months

Rate of Pay: $34.22 per hour - $42.78 per hour

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program (2-year Diploma) at the post-secondary level
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Three (3) years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician required, five (5) years preferred
  • Experience with Kroll Pharmacy management system preferred
  • Compounding Certification (sterile/non-sterile) preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and timelines
  • Demonstrated focus on patient safety, including analysis of medication incidents
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including in difficult conversations
  • Strong technical pharmacy skills and understanding of function of Pharmacy department within a large organization
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
