JOB DESCRIPTION
The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is currently seeking a Social Worker for the Eating Disorder Day Treatment Program, reporting to the Manager of our Eating Disorder Program.
The successful candidate will be a Social Worker with sound knowledge of clinical social work in the area of mental health and eating disorders. In addition to psychosocial assessment, you will work to provide unique individual and group programming, as well as family work utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (EFFT, DBT, CBT-E). You will work actively with our multidisciplinary team. You will liaise with referral sources and community partners to ensure continuity of care when patient is discharged from the program - your role in discharge coordination is important.

- Masters in Social Work
- Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the OCSWSSW Standards of Practice and commitment to maintaining reflective practice standards as described by the College.
- 3-5 years experience in a psychiatric/mental health setting or service.
- Experience with evidenced-based program models that support the treatment of Eating Disorders an asset.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical social/mental health work with Eating Disordered clients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
- Sound knowledge of DSM-IV diagnoses, concurrent disorders and crisis intervention theory and techniques an asset.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated competence in performing, case management, clinical assessment and intervention and documentation of care.
- Thorough knowledge of social work treatment methods applied in mental health settings/community.
- Knowledge and experience with the challenges involved in community reintegration of clients.
- Demonstrated competence in individual, group and family therapy.
- In-depth practice in modalities utilizing EFFT, CBT-E, DBT and FBT an asset.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution and critical thinking abilities.
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills.
- The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is an asset.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
- Variable hours may be required due to patient demand.
