RAPS is Seeking a temporary full-time caregiver to assist an Individual with a Spinal Cord Injury (E22)
Location: East Edmonton (Capilano Area)
Training to start October 4th.
November 5th to January 3rd
Days/Hours: Wednesday -Friday 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (12-hour overnight shift) AND
_ Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (8-hour shift) _
_ Note: This is 20 consecutive hours. _
Job Description: Duties include but are not limited to: Mechanical transfers using a ceiling tract lift, tilting wheelchair with frequent adjustments and repositioning, medication administration, personal care (bathing, dressing, I/O catheterization, bowel routine including Digital stimulation and stretching), light housekeeping, meal preparation and feeding assistance and nightly repositioning.
Note: 1 cat in the home.
Qualifications and Other Requirements: Must have a recent criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check, must be a non- smoker with no pet allergies. Must have the ability to read/ write and speak fluently in English.
Previous experience in the health care field preferred but training will be provided. Preference will be given to those with the Health Care aide certificate.
The ideal candidate will be a keen observer and be able to provide gentle care.
This is a challenging assignment that provides an excellent learning opportunity
Rate of Pay: $21.50-$23/ per hour based on qualifications and experience
