Role

A full-time opportunity for an IT professional experienced in SharePoint and enterprise-wide systems to become an integral part of our corporate team. This recently created position will report to the Sr. Technology Specialist and will assist in various projects that relate to systems, information technology, cyber security, crisis management and business operations.

This position is based in our Vancouver Corporate Office. The Technology Specialist will work collaboratively across our Canadian, Argentine and US-based teams supporting the corroboration function and advancement of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and support SharePoint and respective Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Administer the Company s Intranet site.
  • Troubleshoot and support in-house business processes.
  • Launch and maintain technology solutions.
  • Ensure functionality of IT solutions and identify/address any deficiencies.
  • Design and implement business processes to support crisis management, ESG-related, cyber security and other systems.
  • Advise on IT best practices and implementing solutions based on those best practices.
  • Advise on infrastructure and data protection.
  • Work with internal and external auditors, finance, and operations teams.
  • Support SOX compliance and audit functions.
  • Collaborate with third-party Managed Service Provider (MSP) on day-to-day office IT requests.
  • Assist with ERP implementation/projects/enhancements.
  • Keep on top of industry best practices and trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge/Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent, preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of ITIL concepts, IT principles and best practices.
  • Experience and knowledge in multiple IT disciplines.
  • Ability to configure and operate computer workstations, portable and peripheral devices.
  • Knowledge of the interactions between network components, computer workstations, and servers for the identification, isolation, and resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity-related issues.
  • Demonstrated interest in Cyber Security best practices.
  • Interest in the mining industry with a passion for tackling climate change and improving status quo.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities is important.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team to achieve results.
  • Ability to take direction and follow practices and procedures consistently and accurately.
  • Attention to detail and strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think logically and break complex issues into smaller tasks/steps when troubleshooting.
  • Ability to layout and present training material in a timely, organized, and clear manner.
  • Passionate about delivering excellence to our business users.
  • Highly self-motivated.
