We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Japanese Line Cook and Sushi chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and meal preparation within a restaurant or kitchen environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality dishes are prepared efficiently and safely, adhering to all food safety and handling standards.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including cooking stations and equipment.
- Follow proper food safety and handling procedures to minimize risks of contamination.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within the restaurant or food service industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
