We are seeking compassionate, reliable, Support Workers to join our team in providing care in a home setting. This role involves supporting daily routines, engaging the client in meaningful activities, assisting with life skills development, and ensuring a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, supportive care in alignment with the client’s daily schedule and care plan.
- Engage the client in activities such as sensory play, puzzles, crafts, music, and outdoor play.
- Encourage and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, handwashing, dressing, folding laundry, doing dishes, sweeping, and tidying.
- Support school readiness by practicing transitions, social play, and following simple routines.
- Use positive behavior redirection strategies when needed.
- Monitor and record daily notes.
- Ensure the client’s comfort, safety, and well-being at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities (required).
- Background in childcare, social services, developmental services, or personal support work an asset. (Personal Support Worker, DSW, Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, OTA)
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate when managing challenging behaviors.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Able to follow a structured routine and detailed care instruction
