Job Description: Seeking A female to assist with community connections and light cleaning duties for a female living independently. This position is looking for a staff to work on Saturdays from 10am-12pm with an alternating focus of one week on cleaning and the next on community connections.
Responsibilities:
· Treat the employer with dignity and respecting her privacy; Keeping in mind that she is your employer.
·Develop and maintain a relationship with the employer and adhere to the philosophy of In The Company of Friends.
·Assisting the employer to maintain close connections with family (assisting in visits, remembering important dates, shopping for gifts etc.)
·Have any understanding of events happening within Winnipeg and working alongside the employer to find meaningful and enjoyable things to do.
·Provide assistance with light cleaning duties in a two bedroom apartment (Tidy, vacuum/sweep, mop, cleaning of various rooms and taking out the garbage).
·Support the employer in the decisions and choices she makes without judgement.
·Demonstrating open, respectful and effective communication with the employer and her support network.
·Be flexible
Qualifications:
·A good sense of humor, kind and supportive.
·First Aid/CPR required (must obtain within 60 days of employment)
·Clear Criminal Record and Adult Abuse Registry check
·Experience working as a support worker in an independent living arrangement would be an asset.
