Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, seniors, or those requiring additional support in their daily lives. This role is essential in promoting the well-being and independence of our clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in a respectful and dignified manner. This is an every other weekend position only located in Carleton Place.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Support clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Requirements
- Experience working with persons with disabilities or in senior care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care and Parkinsons'practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting or moving clients when necessary.

- Certificate of completion of a Personal Support Worker, Developmental Services Worker or equivalent.
