Support Worker Needed: Empowering Independence with Compassionate Care
An easy going self-directed 50-year-old woman living with MS is seeking dependable support workers to assist her in maintaining her independence and learning to thrive while navigating life in a wheelchair.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance: sponge, dressing, catheter care, bathroom assistance
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure client receives proper nutrition according to dietary requirements
- Support client with mobility and transfers via mechanical lifts (over bed, floor), ensuring their safety at all times
- Equipment maintenance: wipe down & battery charging as needed (wheelchair, commode, over bed lift, floor lift)
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for client by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed
- Assisting with range of motion (ROM) exercises, stretches, and physio program
- Occasional outings: gym, shopping, appointments, errands
- Providing assistance with pet care
- Hobbies such as gardening, coloring, home projects, Netflix
Qualifications:
Education: Grade 12 or equivalent preferred. Health Care Training is an asset
Experience: Experience is not necessary, just a pleasant attitude and willing to learn
Physical: Must be in good health and be able to physically carry out the tasks and expectations outlined.
Shift Needs
Monday thru Friday - ideally 8am-11am, 2-4(or5)pm, 7-9pm – shift times can be flexible based on client needs and the right candidate's availability. Shifts can be independent or as Split Shifts
Compensation
$25/hour to start. Paid via e-transfer on the 15th and 31st

You are someone who values respect, a clean living/work environment, is comfortable both being busy/working hard and enjoying some down time/relaxing, while bringing a patient and upbeat attitude to everything you do. You understand the importance of tailoring support to the individual’s needs and preferences while enabling them to lead a fulfilling life. Ideally, you have:
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Pass a Criminal Record Check
- A genuine love for gardening, fitness, creative activities, and animals
- Strong interpersonal skills, compassionate nature and sense of humour
- Must be comfortable/good with pets (energetic German Shepherd, lazy long-haired cat)
