Reporting to the Superintendent, Plant Services, the Sanitation Supervisor leads the direction of sanitation operations including but not limited to, HACCP, food safety, GMP programs, and audits. This includes supervising the Sanitation departments unionized employees on evening/night shifts and collaborating with Production and Quality Assurance departments to ensure plant sanitation requirements are met. This includes daily involvement with chemicals, micro-analysis, and team building.
Key Accountabilities:
• Provide leadership and direct supervision to employees in the Sanitation department;
• Manage safe, cost effective and efficient production;
• Continuously improve our manufacturing resources, process, efficiencies and quality;
• Ensure employee safety and compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act;
• Ensure Quality Compliance with all HACCP procedures;
• Maintain a positive union and employee relations’ environment;
• Ensure open and effective communications;
• Ensures that the sanitation procedures are followed at all times;
• Ensures staff handles and packages product in a sanitary manner;
• Manages employees to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices are followed;
• Sets an example by following GMP’s.
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education or equivalent industry experience;
• Proven experience and commitment to good manufacturing practices;
• Knowledge of HACCP, WHMIS and Provincial Safety Regulations would be an asset;
• Available to work the evening/night shift (Monday to Friday);
• Proven initiative and leadership skills.
