QUALIFICATIONS


  • Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
  • Post-secondary education in a health related discipline relevant to the position
  • 1 year of experience in Materials Management procurement function within the last 3 years
  • Other combinations of suitable education and experience may be considered
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Area Manager of Materials Management, the Stores Lead Hand performs functions and duties designed to coordinate the receiving, shipping, control, storage, pick-up, delivery and issuing of goods to and from the Materials Management Department as well as various sites and Community Health. In addition, the Stores Lead Hand will guide employees in the Materials Management Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

1. Guide, coordinate and report on day-to-day operations of Material Management department.

2. Carry out any administrative duties including personnel management, filing etc.

3. Receives, inspects, verifies and accepts or rejects all supplies and equipment delivered to the Materials Management Department.

4. Accurately prepares and processes all inventory documentation concerned with the storage and distribution of supplies including receipts, receiving reports, stock issue requisitions, return-to-stock credits, returns to vendors.

5. Replenishes stock for departments/facilities from supply requisitions on a regular basis.

6. Maintains accurate records of all transactions.

7. Provides good communications with the Area Manager of Materials Management concerning all activities assigned (i.e. low supply levels, shipping and vendor errors, etc.).

8. Coordinates the delivery and distribution of goods in the most efficient manner.

9. Performs all duties related to the pick up and delivery of mail, parcels and supplies to the various facilities.

10. Deliver and oversee bank deposits and petty cash transactions.

11. Affix postage to outgoing mail and parcels.

12. Perform duties such as copying and packaging to assist with distribution.

13. With the approval of the Manager makes non-stock purchases when required.

14. Laminate various information/forms/pictures as needed.

15. Manage requests from departments/facilities on an emergency basis.

16. Assist in inventory counts as required.

17. Follow policy and procedure set out for the Materials Management Department and Prairie Mountain Health

18. Other duties as assigned
