Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Store Manager to oversee our retail operations at Canada's Dinosaur Park. This position is crucial in managing sales, staff, and inventory while promoting our mission of wildlife conservation and education. The Store Manager will play a key role in enhancing the visitor experience and supporting our rescued reptiles.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations, including sales, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Lead and motivate the retail team to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain financial records.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize revenue.
- Oversee payroll processing and budgeting for the retail department.
- Conduct interviews and train new staff members to ensure a knowledgeable team.
- Communicate effectively with visitors about our mission and the animals in our care.
- Organize dinosaur rentals; manage invoicing, delivery, and retrieval.
- In the off season, management and coordination of dinosaur fundraising events.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with cash handling and financial management practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences; multilingual skills are an asset.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes is preferred.
