This vacancy is for an existing position.
This role will have a dotted line reporting to the Purchasing Manager and the Strategic Sourcing Manager. Sourcing agent will liaise directly with the category suppliers and internal stakeholders.
The Sourcing Agent will support operations with the item sourcing/validation process as well as the RFP preparation for Strategic Sourcing.
Material Planning:
- Coordinating the validation process of consumables with Procurement, Operations, Quality Regulatory department, Medical/Scientific department, Quest Procurement and Supplier as required.
- Work with operational leads and buyers as required to help resolve any material shortages to minimize or eliminate an production disruptions
- Work with operational leadership including Sourcing, Procurement and Finance to successfully manage any platform changes or refreshes ensuring operational disruption and minimize any excess material inventory that must be scrapped or disposed.
- The sourcing agent will make a tactical in approach in managing levels within the assay.
- Coordinating the Sequester Process demand planning with the supplier and internal stakeholders
- Optimize sequester planning to minimize the number of validations required per year while minimizing or eliminate any liability for excess or expired inventory
- Actively review the sequester process for operational improvements and recommendations. Ensure that any approved changes to the process are implemented in a timely manner and achieve the expected savings or operational efficiencies.
- Sequester process – same lot on same equipment across both provinces, matching lots to the time from when they are expiring, and ensuring that new lots are only used when they are approved and after the expiry date. The sequester process is now so big, with so many products, that buyers can’t manage it, this resides with materials.
- Support the data preparation for RFP proposals that may include historic data analysis and future forecasts. Work with other teams in the organization (Bus. Dev., Marketing, Finance, etc), to validate data plans and models
- Work with Finance, Operational Excellence and the Data Science Team to optimize the use, deployment, interpretation and optimization of Supply Chain Management Data with the goal of making such data more easily accessible, useable and understandable. Work to minimize data redundancy and data integrity errors.
- Additional work as defined by the Manager.
3-5 years experience
Experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
Ability to understand supply chain management processes, including; materials management, procurement, and strategic sourcing
Project management experience is an asset
Must have excellent communication skills (both verbally and written)
Exposure to sourcing, negotiation and contract development skills an asset
Understand and utilize best practice SCM processes.
Customer focused with exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability prioritize, multitask and shift priorities.
Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle ERP, Discoverer, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint are definite assets
PMAC registration and/or accreditation would be an asset
Lean and/or Six Sigma is also an asset
