We are hiring for a Full-Time Smokehouse Supervisor position with a wage range of $18.00 - $24.00 at our location in Stony Plain, AB.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead Smokehouse Team to:
- Preparing recipe ingredients for smoked products (bacon, jerky, pepperoni, sausage, etc.)
- Grinding, mixing, stuffing, hanging, smoking, and cooling of products
- Monitor product temperatures in controlled stages of production
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area
- Properly handle and store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Assist Meat Department Manager in inventory management and ordering
- Ensure all quality, service, and cleanliness standards are adhered to by Smokehouse Team
- Team Member training and coaching to achieve operational standards
- Prepare special orders as per customer’s request
- Handling customer service inquiries and providing a positive customer experience
- 1-2 years experience in a supervisory position within a butchershop or smokehouse
- Knowledge of sausage-making fundamentals and familiarity with sausage-making equipment
- Positive, can-do personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Comfortable working during peak grocery deli hours (i.e. evenings, daytime, weekends, and holidays)
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
